Edulift:  Scholarship Opportunities Program

INTRODUCTION

Edulift is a subsidiary of Charaplast, a 501 (c)(3) charitable non-profit focusing on medical relief, educational relief, and improving human welfare in under developed countries.

Edulift focuses specifically on arranging for high school students in Cambodia to reach their goal of attending college.

In addition to attending the internationally accredited English Language University (Pannasastra University of Cambodia or PUC), Edulift students assist Charaplast doctors with their medical relief efforts, and volunteer at a local orphanage for several hours a week.

Your sponsorship dollars subsidize Edulift students’ tuition, and help them to perpetuate the process of assisting others throughout their lives.  Edulift and Charplast manage the students throughout the entire process.  Upon graduation they remain members of our organization, guiding new students through their journeys, as well as maintaining involvement with other charitable projects in their country.

OUR MISSION

Every year, we sponsor local Cambodian students in Siem Reap with scholarships to the Pannasastra University of Cambodia (PUC), an internationally accredited university, in order to pave the way for success in their home country. The sponsored students pay us back by continuing the Charaplast mission and volunteering their time at the Santa Pheap Orphanage. Together we strive to develop Cambodian society, culture, and infrastructure for an overall brighter and happier future.

Special Message to Charaplast Sponsors

Sponsoring a Student

Tens of Thousands of children across Cambodia fall into poverty after leaving high school — with no hope and no education, they can easily continue the cycle of poverty their family has been stuck in for generations.

$60 a month covers all costs to attend the university, including tuition, books and all related materials (students live at home while attending the university). Your donation or sponsorship is tax deductible.

Sponsor a child in need today and you’ll help provide him or her with access to life-changing education! In so doing, you’ll also contribute to families and entire communities being able to lift themselves out of poverty. Edulift students build a brighter future by assisting Charaplast with the delivery of medical aid to children who cannot afford it and by providing orphans with much-needed care. Please sponsor a child today!

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES
    • 100% of all money donated goes towards putting children through college.
    • At Edulift, all personnel are volunteers. There is no administrative overhead.
    • Your donation is tax deductible through our 501(c)(3)status.
You will meet your student online and form a relationship with him or her via email and through updates written to you by the student.

Greeting from Cambodia, my name is Srel Kimsan, 23 years old (November, 01 of 1987). I was born in one of the very poor villages which is around 50km from the Siem Reap town. In my family, there are five members: two daughters, two sons and the mother. My dad was killed in Pol Pot regime. So, the whole family has token responsibility by the mother. None of my brothers and sisters have a chance to study expect me. All of them are getting married already and being farmers.

In 1997, I had to leave from my family to study at the small town since in that time; we had no school in that village. We were living as a group that was coming from the same village. Also, I used to stay in the pagoda. Until the 2009, I graduated in high school and have an opportunity to continue in university now. However, I am still in the situation which is facing with financial crises.

I am very happy that I can have a chance to study in university. And I have to study hard in order to support my family and to stop recycling from me so that, it won’t continue to my children and grand grand children. Furthermore, I can have opportunity and ability to save my community and my country by using my knowledge. Finally, I have a dream that when I am old, I will establish a children’s home because I am the one who was savvied from it.
